For those who are using an aftermarket throttle cable like Lokar...how long did you make it and how did you route it? I'm having a problem that I can only get 1/2 throttle opening. When I observe it, it appears that the cable is flexing some before it begins to pull on the carb. I've taken all the slack out and still have this problem.

This is on a 360 in a Duster.

Make the outer cable as short as possible, do not make a loop in it, it will bind and stick. I have used them and they work ok.

I ran one in my Dart w/a 360 before I went 4 speed, no problems. Here's a couple pix, hope it helps.

A pic of the setup, how it's routed and how it's anchored would be helpful. Also how/where it's attached to the carb linkage.

I'll get a pic up later but it looks almost identical to pntastar69's pics.

If you are only getting half throttle there is another issue other than just routing.
Like where it attaches to the carb linkage.

Are you using a Lokar pedal? If so they can usually be "clocked" to provide more throw.

Just the stock original pedal.
Are you using the appropriate throttle linkage adapter?
The one you need depends on what carb you have, which you didn't mention; but you need it to get the right "throw" with an aftermarket carb and stock pedal.

stock pedal, so first of all make sure it can mechanically move freely, not bend, nothing under the pedal

then there is the other side, the closer the cable attaches to the pivot point of the carb, the more a certain amount of move on the cable translates into movement of the butterfly

(1 inch movement in the middle of the arm might be 1/2 throttle, 1 inch movement on the top of the arm might only be 1/4 throttle)

also, since this is a cut to fit cable, make sure there is no binding there, and neither one of the ferules is causing the bind

(i could totally see the ferule in the firewall portruding to far and acting as stop (like a coke bottle that gets stuck under the gas pedal))
