What is the correct length for these? I think either my tube is not the correct length or I have the wrong dipstick. The actual full line on the dipstick is 1 5/8" from the tip, which low after an oil change of 5 quarts. The tube is 11 inches to block and the dipstick is 20 1/2 inches to the cup that slides over the tube. 360 motor. Thanks
 
Put 4 quarts in it and mark it. Then put another quart in and mark that.
That’ll be your add and full mark.
 
Thanks to both, I have done that, scratched a line at the where the oil line is when full, it is about a quart above the original line. I was trying to figure out what the correct setup was..
 
Honest truth is every year,model, the tubes and sticks vary.
Even things like A/C and Non A/C.Cars trucks vans all different.
 
Thanks, didn't know there were so many different ones. I will just keep the setup I have marked.

If your anal, Put 4 quarts , start let filter fill then check after a few minutes and mark, then add 5th quart and mark.
