Shipping Costs...Wow!

This is why I bailed on smoking cheese for people this year...I really should have said something in the post I had but forgot about it. I smoked a "sample" 2 pound block for a friend. Cheese was $9, shipping was $15...frigging ridiculous...
 
Sold a pair of skirts for a '63 Ford ..$53 to ship them. Don't think the box weighted 8 lbs. but it was the size. Won't be shipping anything unless there is a big profit margin. Also, first time in a long time I sold something on ebay this week and they added state sales tax to it, that I need to pay this year.
 
Went into O'Reilly's today for mechanics gloves, $35 bucks for a box of 100 Large.

Said the heck with that, I will work in my bare hands.

Everything has gone crazy up, up, up.

We need Trump Back in Now, enough of this nonsense.

I think I've used local brick and mortar more since the shipping has increased. So spending my money nearby is good for the area. Our local speed shops really need to stick around.

Went to Menards here and got the Blue Gloves, from their paint department.

Box of 100 Large, 14 bucks.
That's Better, they work about the same holding up to chemicals.

I used to offer free shipping for sold parts, but can't do that any more.
Obviously the shippers are overwhelmed because of the huge increase in online shopping due to the "covid" scam, but I'm sure that way many more people stay away from the stores because of traffic, fuel costs, and the ruthless lowlife trash running loose on the streets.
Much easier and safer to order from home. I do.

A friend's dad fled Illinois and moved to Iowa. A moving company quoted him $23K to pack everything and haul it to his new house. Apparently he's good with that. Must be chump change to him. The house he bought cost $850K.
