What you are saying makes sense and doesn't necessarily contradict anything I've posted already. The things I know for sure are that the triangle bracket is/was a part of the alternator bracketing as the car came to me (granted may not have been correct), and (while I agree) that two of the holes should interface with the water pump, there is no way that can happen. The holes are not spaced in a way that two of them could bolt to the WP. I have to decide if I'm going to put it back together the way it was, or try to find the correct alternator bracketing.
