Good day all, I have an odd ball Dart I’ve had for many years. (71 GT/Swinger) I have been looking for wheel opening chrome and had purchased some through a private sale and they barely wrapped around the opening. My original one wrap inside the wheel opening quite far. Has any else noticed different sizes of lip or did I get some cheap version?

67-68 uses stainless wheel opening moldings, 69-up are aluminum. Got pics of what you have?

IIRC the OEM 67 dart are different than other years.

When you say

Post some photos of what your are describing
Isn't the profile different as well?

Sorry I had a death in the family and I have been dealing with a lot of things this last while. I’m hoping to get a few finishing touches complete now. I’ll dig the chrome out for pictures. I’m wondering if there’s a way to repair the Swiss cheese in them vs trying to find replacements.

Please tell us more about this car .
I bought her a long time ago, stumbled on it actually, up to that time she was someone’s daily. I’ve grew up in Darts so it was a no brainer when I stumbled upon it. I thought it was odd with the way the emblems were. But when I began to pull the car apart I found two broadcast sheets that confirmed the car was indeed ordered with a Swinger and a GT option. I really like it because it’s an odd ball with high back buckets, console shift, wood grain trim. Hemi orange paint with Black vinyl top and black interior. I’m looking to keep it stock because I’ve never seen another like it.

Cool Car!!! Was this car sold in Canada? I think it must be a Canada only variant as the US version starts life as a Dart Custom with an A65 option. All the exterior badges say DartGT only (no Swinger badges) and the Dart GT badge in 71 is on the rocker panel in the black painted part. I'm working on a 70 Dart GT now and the badging is on the quarter panel. Does your glove box door have any script badges on it? 70 GTs have Dart Custom badge on the glove box.

Yes Canadian car.
No script on glove box, I figure the emblems are different on the car because it’s a late build date as to why they may have changed the location of emblems on the fender. A friend who been into Dodges longer than I have been alive thinks the car may have been ordered for a dealership for a showroom car to show available options. But I don’t know, I just enjoy it. Even if there were documents they would probably be long gone by now.
