Chardon, Ohio Mopar Show 6/13/21

Well, attendance was down to 302 cars or so. (Last year was 390+) Weather had something to do with that as a storm blew in from Lake Erie. Thunder woke me up at 5:30 AM. It mostly hit west of Cleveland and wasn't nearly so bad east of there. I called one of my Barracuda buddies at 10 am as we were supposed to caravan to the show together. The rain ended early for him and when I called, he was already there.

There is a local Facebook "mopar" club. 90% of the members have modern cars, Challengers, Chargers, Rams, stuff like that. I jojned a couple years ago because well, it said Mopar. The conversations are mostly where should I get my windows tinted? Who installs halo lights? What color air freshener should I get? Stuff like that. I doubt half of them know what a Plymouth is.

A few weeks ago, they announced they were going to invade the Junction show. A change this year was participant voting on Facebook! A lot of the old dudes still have flip phones so the younger "mopar" people have an advantage. I don't really care who won best 2008-14 original Challenger as they voted for all their members. But a guy I know just finished his 37 Plymouth pickup, 392 dual quad early Hemi with an A833 4 speed. Spent a few years getting it together and it was different so he got my vote. Of course, there were several other nice modifued trucks.
Guess what? First place modified truck was a 2021 Durango!!!!! Second place was a 1974(?) 3500 dually with a Hellcat motor. Another member, House of Mouse.

I may complain to Junction about the Communist voting but it's still a decent show.
