Yes! For an engine that has not run for a long time, pull the plugs and put a tablespoon or two of oil (couple of squirts from a pump oil can) into each cylinder, then slowly rotate the front of the crank a few revolutions to allow the pistons to have some lubrication. Prime the engine with oil, then put the plugs back in. Dry engines can do a lot of damage fast.
