340 HP Exhaust Manifold Bolt/Stud/Nut Locations
Just did this install on ‘68 340 and here’s the skinny.
Both side heads get the studs in all the end holes, 4 total, these go into the cooling system so put some quality liquid thread sealer on them during install and the get installed till the shoulder is seated.
The other two studs are installed in the passenger head on the two end ports, no coolant here so a dab of anti seize and tighten to the shoulder.
All the nuts and bolts get the conical washers except the two barrel bolts for obvious reasons.
Don’t forget to torque all your fasteners, 200” lbs for 5/16-24 with anti seize.
