Today we learned that the axle sits off center by about 4" on the leafs towards the front. My education class continues :)

Thats just typical of virtually any leaf spring mopar, they all have a shorter front segment than rear, some dramatically so. Ss springs are 20"front, 35"rear. The front section gives the traction, the rear gives the soft ride.
