electric bikes?

If you’re pedaling a 80+ lb bike with 4 inch wide knobby tires for 30 miles up and down steep hills you definitely need electric pedal assist. Conventional bikers yell at us, “Why don’t you fu<king pedal!” We are pedaling as hard as we can the whole time. Unless you try it, you won’t understand it. 95% of the time we ride on asphalt. I do notice the youngsters hardly ever pedal the electric bikes—different generation.
You are creating your own problem here. You bought a bike that is heavy and now you have to rely on the electric assist to stay rolling. I have been involved in mountain biking for decades, and I have seen it all. They have their place for sure, but a lot of states will not allow them on their trail systems. If you are older and have health issues and it keeps you exercising then I am all for it. But personally I will never ride one.
