Truck's Gotta Bite !

how about concrete in the tailgate?
LOL.... weight would be easy to add... only it would head the ET in the wrong direction :D

318 WR ,trucks traditionally lay rubber (no weight over the rear) have you considered tubs? I know you aren't spending money, but you could fab tubs with sheet metal and welder, then put wide drag radials under it. Other than that, traction bars or hiomemade ladder bars maybe?
At one point when we were going to put a car rear end in it and lower it, tubs were part of the plan. Since, we went with the stock height and a truck rear end so tires fitting are no longer an issue. Right now we have 31x10.5's' under it with lots of room to spare, so the 28" drag radials won't be an issue.

I haven't seen anything 318 has fabricated or welded. Not to say he can't I just haven't seen it. One thing for doing that kind of stuff is drilling and riveting. He could probably cut those out and drill and rivet some metal in..
fabricate? all the time. Weld? no, i don't have a welder as of now, nor am I an experienced welder. I have welded before, though.
Something tell me 318 WR is handy with a welder...:) but yeah either more rubber or weight, I can remember as a kid the guys with trucks would do burnouts at every stop sign,it was easy no weight. the AMC Gremilin X was hell for that also v8 engine no weight over the rear wheels. Burnout machine..
Welding isn't my specialty. Obviously, I could throw 500 lbs on top the axle, I mean i have a 8' bed LOL. But Obviously, that would push the ET the wrong way. The rubber that will be used is 275/60r15 drag radial
