Having a 360/408 stroker built for my 69 Barracuda Fastback. Wondering if anyone has experience with a Miledon oil pan. The folks at Miledon tell me I they have a 7 or 8 quart. Part #30941 (7qt) and part#30940 (8qt).
Wondering if there will be any clearance issues with K frame? They tell me the only difference between the two is the 30940 is 1 inch deeper (8 3/4 inches). Builder is recommending the 8 qt pan.
Also wondering if my 340 motor mount brackets will fit the 360 ?
Any info is appreciated.. Thanks

The deep Milodon oil pan I have/had hit the K member on the passenger side in the front....I would have had to knock the K member.....I bought a Moroso...

just a cautionary note if you do a search here there is a thread regarding the current Milodon oil pans regarding quality and baffles and oil pick up tube interference. You may end up with a perfectly fine oil pan and not have any of the problems that I had or Pittsburgh racer had with his. you may wanna look into a Kevco or Canton although the Canton weld quality from what I’ve seen is not as nice as the Kevco. If you inquire about a Kevco they typically make it within a week or so if it’s black. The cad plated they said would be about 3 weeks delay iirc.

I will never ever ever use a milodon ever again
Ever

No, it will not fit and no, it will not hold oil

I will tape up a cardboard box before I install another milodon pan (and have a better chance of it not leaking)

Seriously, look into kevco if you want more then stock capacity

I've run 2 milodon 7 quart pans in my 340s for 15 years and never had a leak even after I hit a manhole ring and smashed it into the crankshaft and ruined a set of headers the oil pan never leaked. I did have to cut a small clearance notch in my k member approximately 3/4 of a inch

Had one in a Duster, there is some cutting needed on the K member. Not a direct fit, but I made it work.

Stock pans are fine. My 408 with a stock pan. :)

I’m running the 30935 pan in my 72 340 duster 4speed w/ scatter shield, manual steering, TTI headers and biscuit mount K frame... no issues with clearance. I would second some of the other guys, there is a few Mildon pan that suck and really suck to make fit...

I like my Kevco #M302 6-qt pan and pickup. Bolted up without issue on my 408 and fit in the 72 Demon without issue. Also clears the Hooker Super Comp headers. When I got it, the welds and finish all looked great. I gave it the "white glove" test and it was absolutely clean as received. No dirt/residue came off the inside of the pan. My 2 cents....

Kevco on my 408 with 1 7/8 W2 TTi headers in my 69 Swinger fit nice .

Since mildon is in California they can no longer check them with solvents they check them with water and that's not good enough to check for leaks.. I not only had to I patch my pan on the passenger side and dent my headers on the driver side I had to cut a triangle out of my k frame..
All builders want you to have extra capacity oil pans, it helps safeguard their work..
I'm building a 408 for my truck and just going to use the factory pan and wish I would have in my 410 in my Duster in hindsight.. I use quality oil and change it often so it's really just over kill in my opinion... If your drag racing I can see the need for baffles possibly but generally even then you're changing your oil pretty often...

all the guys i know with 8 quart pans aren't very happy when it's time to change the oil.
Do you need an 8 quart pan?

Interesting I got 5 engines in cars with 8 qt pan....take the bolt out the oil pours out.......pretty simple...

Most of the Kevco pans come with scrapers and a bit more baffling, traps than the Milodon and Canton, as well as the Moroso, Not to mention most are running windage trays when they use any of these pans. I’m not sure I heard them mention they were using a windage tray with either pans, did they? A video of various pans with or without baffles, crank scrapers, windage trays, and the extra oil would be much more useful than that video IMO This is their stock location 5 qt (6 total) pan showing the internals that are similar to their extra capacity pans.

2 or 3 extra quarts is cheap cooling and getting the oil away from the crank is "free" horsepower.
I bought a Milodon Roadrace pan with the wide sides. Yes I had to notch the stock K; took a 3/4 by 3/4 triangle out, like said; no problem. My TTIs circa 1999, on OOTB Eddie heads, fit just fine.
But I snagged the front a few times so eventually I had to install a small skid plate. Milodon shouldda put a bevel on the front of that pan. I slammed it hard enough one time to crack it. Wasted a lotta time trying to braze it up, in frame.
I run stock biscuit-mounts with a Schumacher tether.
