What rear suspension for bracket racing.

I was at work today and didn't have time or the want to type the reply I wanted to on my phone, so here goes.

Your right, I didn't build the Dart, Dodge did. Same thing with the Strange S-60.

What I did do, rebuilt the front end, installed the Strange brakes on the front, Wilwood's on the back, installed all new brake lines, line lock and MC. I fabricated and installed the frame ties, same thing with the boxes for the inboard springs, the mini tub is also my work. The roll bar I installed, same with relocating the battery and all the wiring. Also the brackets that the kirkey seats are on are mine.

The engine block, sadly I didn't cast it, another project for Ma Mopar, Indy did the heads. Also I didn't do the rods, cam, pistons, cam and lifters. I don't have the equipment or the funds to do that kind of stuff. Same for the machine work. I did however take the measurements and have Diamond make the pistons, chose the lifters and who to have port the heads and intake. The cam I picked Brett Millers and Dwayne Porters brain and had Porter order it for me, Brett recommended the 1.7 T&D rockers, so something else I didn't do. I ported the oil pump and massaged the oil passages in the block, did all the measuring for clearances and gave the machine shop the numbers for the deck height I wanted. I also assembled the heads and set the valve springs to the correct heights, measured and ordered pushrods. Did a ton of clearance work on the block just to get the lifters in. I did assemble the engine, even degreed the cam in all by myself.

The transmission is Mopar, I did however rebuild it, removed the governor and made the spacer on my lathe to take it's place. It has red clutches, koleno steels, billet steel front drum, also I milled the slot in the stator support to help oiling, again not an original thought from me, John Cope gets credit for telling me. I also measured the drive shaft, yes I had it built, again I don't have the proper equipment. A man's got to know his limitations.

The engine was broke in and tuned on a dyno, again not mine. I paid someone else for the time and help and it was damn well worth it.

So your right I didn't build it, it's a collection of a lot of stuff other people built. I did however assemble it, chose most of the parts.

I work, save my money until I have enough to buy the parts I want to meet the goals I've set. If I had to pay someone to do all the work I'd have to play checkers instead. You post a pissy little, smart *** teen age girl remark, for what reason I don't know. What I do know is you can kiss this country boys lily white ***!
I love this reply SO MUCH!! This is the kind of crap that runs though my head all the time, LOL! I used to get really annoyed when people would see my car and say "where did you buy that?". Then I would try to explain that I built it from a $100 piece of crap (long story) to what it is today....when I was younger people would just look at me like I was full of crap...now that I'm getting older with mostly gray hair folks are starting to believe me....I guess I look more respectable or something:lol:.
