Im planning on that setup in one of my nine inchers. How do you like it ? (I already have a dapco locker in my 8 3/4, clicking is not gonna bother me!)
I cannot tell you how many times people made comments about the audible clicking while attending car shows, especially cruising the hotel scenes at the major Mopar shows. I found that (the people) annoying! Lol
That’s the reason I pulled it out and simply run spools.
The PowerTrax fits into an open diff, replacing the spider gears and such.
I also put a MiniSpool unit in a cone style Sure Grip carrier. They are designed to fit into an open differential. I believe I took 1/8” off of each cone (the side that the spider gears normally ride against) and machined the splines away to locate, center and support the MiniSpools splined sections.
The PowerTrax was quite unpredictable especially during inclement weather. It would load, unload and be a handful to drive.
I’ve been happily driving spools on the street for 30 years.
