Mopar Posi rear axle

I got me a sure grip and the Chevy guy say's the only sure thing you have is the grip on your crank. lol

Uhh, no.
You're either right or you are not.
Where are your standards? People can and do develop bad habits by seeing and hearing others doing it wrong.
I've known some ignorant adults that butcher this language and they are doing society no favors.
Bisketti is not an acceptable word to describe Spaghetti.
Hang-a-ber isn't the same as a "hamburger" either.
Pacifically is not a replacement for "Specifically", pobly is not "Probably", a VALANCE is not pronounced VAY-LENCE, Milodon is not pronounced Mile-O-Don, Lunati IS pronounced Loo-Knot-EE.
Carry on, fuckers......

The line that drives me crazy that was started by a minority faction. Are you ready for it? “You know what I’m saying”

Yes....Don't forget...
"....And ****"

I went to the store and ****.
Muffukkas be out of milk and **** talkin bout how they truck aint come yet.

How about when someone has a "built" 340, or a "built" 727. What the hell is "built" supposed to mean? Like, assembled and not in pieces? I know it's probably really nit-picky, but that's the one that always makes me cringe.

Y E S !
"Built 340" surely means more power than stock but it does sound stupid.
That engine is Souped up .....I used Minestrone Pistons, Chicken Noodle rods, a Vegetable Beef camshaft and Split Pea rocker arms!

what a bunch of old farts. lol
I'm 59 and I probably used some of the slang when I was a teeny bopper.
It isn't a dizzy, it's a distributor. It is a carburetor , not a carb.

And the one that has always chapped my ***. “Tranny” I have one of them in the family, and it ain’t a car part!

Roy, I'm sure that we ALL have someone in our family that is different from the rest. We love them anyway.
My older brother (Died 2010 from Leukemia) was gay. I have an Uncle that never married and Mom thought he may have been as well.

My 67 Dart 2 door Sedan (or is a post car?) has a Detroit Locker in the 8 3/4 …. Do I still tell people it has a sure grip?

Click, click, click says my 8.75 PowerTrax..... Rarely seen in the Mopar community. When asked,” What’s the clicking noise coming from the rear axle?” I respond with, it’s a PowerTrax Locker and rarely does one know what that is..... I try giving a brief education.

I'd call it exactly what it is.
The "Sure Grip" reference pertains to an OEM type of limited slip like the clutch or cone type differential.

All this damn talk about a "posi" reminds me I need to keep saving $$ for one for my 8.75, 742. :(

Im planning on that setup in one of my nine inchers. How do you like it ? (I already have a dapco locker in my 8 3/4, clicking is not gonna bother me!)

I cannot tell you how many times people made comments about the audible clicking while attending car shows, especially cruising the hotel scenes at the major Mopar shows. I found that (the people) annoying! Lol
That’s the reason I pulled it out and simply run spools.
The PowerTrax fits into an open diff, replacing the spider gears and such.
I also put a MiniSpool unit in a cone style Sure Grip carrier. They are designed to fit into an open differential. I believe I took 1/8” off of each cone (the side that the spider gears normally ride against) and machined the splines away to locate, center and support the MiniSpools splined sections.
The PowerTrax was quite unpredictable especially during inclement weather. It would load, unload and be a handful to drive.
I’ve been happily driving spools on the street for 30 years.

Yeah, i have a nice nodular center with a spool and a good gear that i would like to use.
Trouble is, the housing i want to use it in has summers bros 31 spline axles, ......and the spool center is 33 spline strange.

Not that I know anything about a ford 9”...... but swapping out a 33 for a 31 spline spool is cheap and easy.
Yes, this rear in my Dodge also has a spool.

I was on a Mopar Facebook page a while back, trying to learn because I had just gotten my Scamp. It was my first Mopar, I knew nothing. I used the term "posi," and while everyone else was kind and helpful, one guy replied with "I always discount the intelligence of someone who uses that term." Or something like that. At first, I thought he was trying to bust my balls and imply that Chevy guys are dumb, but from his other comments in the post, I realized he was referring to the Sure Grip/Posi thing.

We all have pet peeves, I get it because I have a LOT of them. Use your turn signal, say "excuse me" when you almost bump into someone at the grocery store, and politely correct someone when they use incorrect automotive terminology because maybe they just don't know any better and maybe, just maybe they'd be appreciative of the education. You know, be decent.
