I think he got it rebuilt. KimLike I've said multiple times now and evidently it's fallen on deaf ears as usual, the 08 ram 1500 Hemi starter is the same style and will fit. No need for anything exotic.

Thanks for the tip Rusty! The rebuilt starter is great. I looked at the 08 starter and the nose looks like it was too short and may not fully engage the flywheel. Do you think this won’t be a problem (for future reference)?Yes, he did. I hope it works well for him.

I have a late model hemi starter on the shelf but I have not installed it yet. If I recall it actually needs to be a 2500 ram with a manual. In the 2006 range.I have to be 100% honest and say "I" have not tried one, but I believe @Johnny Mac has. He's where I got the recommendation. Maybe that slacker will chime in since I tagged him. It's not like he has anything else to do in that cushy job he has. lol
