Six pack lead plug removal?

How to I get the lead plugs covering the mixture screws on the secondaries out?
 
I think you just thread a self-tapping screw(like a short sheet-metal screw) into them, and then grab the head with some vise-grips and pull.
 
I ended up drilling a small hole into the lead plug and using a screw as stated above to pull it out
 
Oh jeez...screw worked like a charm. They came out easily. Honestly, I thought they were thicker than they are.
