Been getting many leads on cars through my son's shop. Mostly Chebbies, and Dorf's. Yesterday I had a guy call me we did a 65 4dr Dodge for. An older lady he met who's husband died years ago. has a 69? dart in a shed. He put eyes on the car. Its been in this shed for 35 plus years he died 10-15 years ago.

Description he gave of the car is .
Color Gray or silver covered with dust,
Very large goofy wide square scoop,
They lifted the hood off . he said its the biggest motor he ever laid eyes on with 2 carburetors. looks to be out of a school bus, I had to laugh when he said that. way bigger then is poly 318 he said.
Very large rear tires sticking out from under the car.
She said it was her husbands he bought it to race. There is a name on the car starts with Pand.

This guy doesn't know anything about cars. He makes Pizza's for a living. I drove there last night with my wife and I found the shed. No one lives there. I am waiting for him to make the deal to go see the car. I talked to Jim yesterday from that area a friend of Dave from this site. He said he remembered hearing of the car from years ago but never had the location .

Fingers crossed. I'll try and get some pics. The lady said the car is a 69?

Love those "barn finds". Hope it works out well for you with that "school bus" engine!

Hoooboy... '68/'69 are easily mistaken to a layman... big square scoop... lift off hood... big dual carbed engine... mother of all barnfinds. Could be a wetdream come true- even if it's not factory, but as long as we're dreaming, why not?
"Pandemonium" was the name of several Mopars, but I haven't found reference to a Dart yet...

Best of luck on this one!

OR it could be a 69 nova with a Chevy 454, and a big ol' fiberglass aftermarket hood...but its worth a look see...:)

Man, I'm really salivating on this one! We all know what this sounds like. How could you sleep last night! Lol

I lived in Fayetteville, Pa, 30 yrs ago. Sounds a lot like the Dart that used to be around the area. All of a sudden the car wasn't seen any more. There was never much activity around the small house. The garage was just small also. Next time I get down that way, if I remember(LOL), I'll have to ride by the old place and take a gander.

Who knows what it can be, I can't wait until you find out and report back to us. I cant tell you how many times people talked to me about my Dart and ask what engine I had in my "nova" or what year was my "charger"
Its okay for people not to know, I actually love the look on their faces when I say its a dodge dart and they try to correct me saying that the dart is a new compact car

I keep checking my phone hoping to see his call. When he said gray my heart started to bang. Then when he said two carbs I started to foam at the mouth. I am having a hard time not going there and opening the shed door. This car is not more then 2 miles from my house. I keep telling myself he said 69, 69, 69,. But I am dreaming 68,68,68,68. This guy couldn't tell a Dodge from a Nova. But the lady said 69 Dart I asked him several times.

I don't know about anyone else but I'm on the left coast and i can't wait for the revelation eather.
I'm hoping for 68 and Hemi.

Yeah I know..worst thing is if the old lady found out what its worth two weeks later. Speaking of which, that car if it is a Factory Hemi Dart is the holy grail of Darts, has to be worth 6 figures..

This is making my heart pound and I've already had one heart attack. I don't know how you can stand it. You better set up some surveillance by that shed!
Lol:elmer:

awe man, just a swinger
thats a let down

what engine was it?

I didn't get to see the car myself. But was told it is a big block. I am still going after it parts are parts in my book.

It be neat if it was a M code but it’s more likely a slant 6 Dart that someone dropped a school bus engine in decades ago.
