Window noise and weatherstrip question

What is the gasket called that goes above the door. How does it go on? And is there a gasket for the small vent window? Will the old cat whiskers cause a lot of wind noise. My car is extremely noisy inside. I have sound deadening on floor and firewall. Most of it comes from the windows.
 
Not sure the question, as there is a gasket above the windows and I call it the roof rail seal. Installed into the stainless track that also has a foam seal under it to the rood rail.

The vent window has a triangular gasket for it as well plus, an extension to the front edge of the glass.


The front edge of the glass has a harder to find today unit called channel seal? The rear has a Quarter seal.

I replaced every one of them, but honestly prefer to drive with all the glass down, and the Bose box in the rear seat cranking out some of my favorite tunes from my iphone!

Most of your noise will be coming from the door glass not sealing properly to the roof rail seals. You can adjust the door and quarter glass, but it can be a very tedious job and you can quickly make things worse if your not familiar with the process.

The window felts will not impact the noise that is getting into the car. If the vent window is not sealing properly, you may be getting some noise, but typically is more of a problem leaking water than noise. The mylar glass channel runs can lead to the door glass rattling and wind noise due to the seal falling apart.

All of the seals are available at this time with the exception of the mylar glass channel runs. Hopefully, the manufacturer will have them back available to the vendors by the end of July.
 
In the day, I would close the door on a piece of paper and pull on it to see if the seal was good. If the paper pulled out to easy you can get wind noise and or water leakage. As said above it's adjustable with patience and time. You can use an Expo marker and trace all the adjustment bolts before you get started so you can put things back if it gets worse. Expo marker washes right off.

Do y’all have a kit or do I order individually. I know my glass channel seals are shot. My passenger side is gone.
 
@loganscuda, we basically sell all of the components individually as one person might need both the door and roof rail seals, but they have already bought a trunk seal. There are a variety seals to these cars and some of the items like the u-jamb and door end cap seals hold up better than a quarter glass seal. Even though we manufacture a number of these pieces directly, it is hard to beat some of the factory pieces like the door and roof rail seals, so I always suggest trying reuse good originals when possible.

Also most vendors may only offer one manufacturer's product. For some parts, we offer the customer at least two to three different alternatives. After being involved for the past 28 plus years in supplying the parts, you start to learn what works better than the other based on year model or body style.

That is the truth for sure. Very tedious!
