I need the tuning tips for better 60 foot..
68 Barracuda 3000lbs, ford 9 3:89 spool, monoleafs with caltracks upper hole with 1,5 preload. Pro tree tranbrake at 3000rpm (4500 at max converter) 28x10,5 hoosier drag radials at 12,5psi. suspension front adjustebale competion and rear calvert at the zero.

60 fot : 1,405
1/8 6,130 113mph
1/4 9,59 140mph
its is spinning at start and need to hook better, advice?

Why so little air pressure on a drag radial? I use the M/T Pro Bracket Radial but almost never change from 18 lbs. Also you aren't running much for rear gear. I run my Caltracs in the lower hole.

iv tried higher pressure but spinning way more, with the 3,89 i got 7100rpm at 1/4

I don't know what your overall package is as you didn't share what the engine /trans/converter were but you need better shocks for starters. At a minimum you need some entry level double adjustable shocks on all 4 corners, like a ViKing or a Strange, QA1 whatever you choose but your going to need the adjustability.

I wish I could agree more with the above post. ^^ also return the caltracs to zero preload at ride height and start tuning there. On the pinto I help with we run a half turn on the left and zero on the right.

thanks will look into the shocks.with less preload at the caltracks could it hook better?
The setup is a 512 12,2:1 640hp+ a 250 shot. power glide pro tree transbrake with 8 dynamic converter, 3,89 rear with spool, 28x10,5 , calvert monoleafs and shocks.
im no tuning expert and want to learn ...
the run above was at transbrake at 3000, 4500 is max

Better shocks.
Definately more air in those radials… have no idea with the caltracs
Play around with where chip is set to launch off the brake. I am guessing you think the lower rpm launch helps it not to want to spin. That is very often not the case. Try moving it around.
What does the car do off the foot? Does it 60 foot better? Spin, not spin?
Any launch video?

Agree with needing a launch video specifically focused on the rear/side angle of the car so we can see both the front and rear suspension.

The first thing I would do is get a taller tire , 30" wider wouldn't be bad either

Take as look at your shock length in rear, looks like you may be topping out on the shock, really hard to tell from that video. Make sure you have a good 5" of front travel. You can try a few numbers higher on the calvert rear shocks, I was at 7-9 but foot breaking. If still not getting it done double adj so you can control both sides, extension and compression.

guess i need double adjustable shocks, startet on 5 and worked down to 0

If you are going to run no-prep, i would definately try bias slicks.
If a drag radial spins, it usually wont hook up till you pedal the throttle, the bias slicks can work, even if they spin a little.
And good shocks are really important in bad traction situations.

I seen the same thing scampy saw... you're hitting full extension on your shocks. they're too short.
More preload on the bars is needed too. You have a lot of body rise for a CalTrac.. they're not in play.
Lower hole, and preload.

Thanks , in upper hole and 1,5 turn as i have will give hardest hit on tire, with lover hole and no preload softest hit.. what do i need?

I'd stick it in the lower hole, and give it a 1/2 turn to start.

I'm sorry it's so blurry.. it's the best I can do, until I get back to the shop..
