I bought a rear disk brake kit from PERFORMANCE ONLINE. Its a nice kit for the price. It uses the cadillac style brake caliper. The kit came with 1 Ebrake cable. The instructions are not very clear on assembly. Has anyone used this style of rear disk brake kit ? Did you use the original style brake cables ? Than

Each caliper should have its own cable, so I don't know what you mean by one brake cable. The parking brake works on a thread inside the caliper body, if you move that lever on the back of the caliper the piston comes out. Don't do it until they are mounted as this is how you adjust them. To retract the piston you thread them back in with a spanner type tool. If you look at the face of the piston it will have receiver notches for this function. Install, plumb, adjust ebrake and bleed.

The first pics is the cable they sent me. The other two are the cables i bought new. I hoping i can use them

yes the one supplied with the kits was way too long, and i have made more treads on the adjusting holder( the one on passenger side.
I had hard time adjusting this caliper back them , so i put back the oem drum cable.I had to weld a longer rod for the holder, i ll take picture this afternoon.

First pic the stock e brake with the another one weld on
Second pics is the supplied e brake cable 39" !!!!

awesome thanks the only problem im having is the left side cable is about 1/4 to short. When its clipped on the bracket that welded on the frame its to short to hook on the caliper

you made me think mine was moved about 1/2 inch and you could move the cable on the equalizer braket

One way is wrong, the other is right. The FSM surely tells the tale.
People say things wrong all the time.
Good luck with the project.

Yeah.....
People also say:
Hot water heater.
PIN number.
VIN number.
Irregardless.
Could care less.

I am sure that I also say stuff that is wrong. When it is brought to my attention, I try to accept it.
For example.....The word Calvary and Wednesday feel wrong to me when they are pronounced correctly.
Ca-vull-ree feels right. Wenns-day too. February ? I tend to say Feb-YOO-air-eee.
English is confusing sometimes.....
