Slant six to V8 conversion.
I bent the /6 throttle bracket 180 degrees where it bolts to the intake.
It needs to be bent a few degrees to the right where the throttle cable attaches.
I need to cut off the tab for kick down linkage. Reversed the carb kick down stud and cut off the kick down part.
Necessity is the mother of invention.

Is it my imagination?? Looks like the way you have the throttle cable clamped in there is damn scary..... should'nt it be a 3/4" longer cable so the housing clamps back from the rolled edge farther?? Or the whole bracket need to be cut up and rewelded so the pinch point is farther forward?? and where is your kickdown now?? Also, throw those loose parts off the engine!!

As well as moving the cable mounting forward, make spacers out of hardware store DOM to raise the cable onto the same plane as the throttle shaft. You can re drill the bracket to mount the spring for a straight pull. You should be able to weld a piece of 1/2 inch wide by 1/8 inch thick flat stock on the rear of the bolt ears and drill it to mount the bracket forward. I used all thread cut to length in place of the manifold bolts and then trimmed sleeve nuts by cutting them with a cut off tool and mounting them in a drill press and evening them out against a nearly used up grinding stone. The bracket mounts on top of the sleeve nuts with lock washers and nuts.

Yup. The flare in the metal part of the cable should be at the very back of the clamp. They way it is now, It could possible work loose and if it's tightened up the least bit too much it'll crush the metal cable housing.

No doubt you’ll get it worked out! I know I have made do with what’s available more often than not. I take it that your setup no longer requires a kick down. If it does need one, it adds a whole ‘nother level of complication
