Starting Sat/ Sun and next week we are to have not only seasonal record breaking temps BUT ALL TIME record breakers. Last "guess" I saw was 108 one day next week and over 100 most of week. I'm planning on making an "early morning run" one day to pick 'er up. For those forgot, I bought this thing with a vinyl top, completely rusted underneath. Pulled a 69 HT shell and went with that. This car had a "used car" paint job and I didn't want to put that much into it, so he just painted the roof, is going to add some pinstripe for the "break" line.

The day I dragged 'er home Bone stock 74 Scamp slant/ auto/ SB wheels. Someone before the last buyer failed trying to put a modern radio in. Has AC. "Does run" ---after a fashion. Needs carb work at least, and brakes

That's about all, too LOL Temp low 90's today. Got the junk in the trailer box sorted out and checked air and fluids in the trailer and Dodge/ cummins in anticipation of "the trip" this week. Supposed to be HOT. Early morning trip I forgot to check if the A/C still works

Well I got 'er home. I was NOT planning on unloading 'er off the trailer because I am taking it to the glass place Thurs to get the front/ rear glass back in. I'm sure you guys know red is tough to match, and the rest of the car is "used car" paint job quality. I did not want to invest in a complete, I already have more into this than "I figgured." Paint break is somewhere around the top of the fenders. I don't think it matches too badly

BUT SOMETHING ELSE POPPED UP!!!!

This will likely head to the dump after some meetings with the sawz allz, we'll see about the trailer, and the engine is another 40hp Evinrude about a ?63" or so

It's FREE!!!! So the flatbed and Cummins will head over to Spokan-amentro (heavily armed) tomorrow early, leave here 7AM ish

I think so. As I said it is a "used car" ish paint job, who knows how old or how faded. There has to be a limit. I don't want to put THAT much into it. If I somehow magically find the winning ticket, I can always have it painted. Here is a bit of what he was up against

Keep it up! Nice to see another late model Scamp being saved. Not a common colour combo since most were either brown or green.

I like it a lot, and I don't care for red cars all that much!
The small pin stripe works well with the color and subtly breaks it up.
Nice touch.

Nice !
Perfect specimen for the drivetrain out of your 67. at least you could get this one done. lol
you know you want a 408 in the 67 anyway.

I'm not planning on swapping anything out of the 67. I cannot decide "what"

Might fix it up and drive it stock
Might sell it
Might put a turbo or GM/EATON blower on the slant
"The usual" SB swap
Or B/RB...........I actually bought a set of B/RB manifolds that are supposed to fit an A here some time back LOLOL

I JUST NOT (12:30) got in the house from dragging the "new" /free/junk boat home from Spokane. Trailer might be worth something, but sketchy. Boat is gonna get sawed up to the dump. Outboard is a twin to the other Evinrude 40 I have, may be fixable or parts, and save the chrome off the boat.

I had to stop at a boat weeds checkpoint, I rolled up there and yelled at the guys "THIS IS NOT A BOAT!!!! IT IS A TRIP TO THE DUMP!!!

Brought 'er home (backwards on the trailer) rigged the front ball to the tractor loader, and dragged 'er off the trailer and around to the back. Sooner or latler I'll saw it up and to the dump

The scamp has to go back on the trailer. It goes to the glass joint this Thursday

Just looked, 1:15 it's 100.4F

Geez I was just over to the neighbors a minute ago, they have a guy over there going to do some welding on the old dump truck, and SOUNDS LIKE HE IS INTERESTED in the "big" 16ft Crestliner that is "too big" for me, and sounds like he doesn't even want me to fix the transom wood either!!! We'll see!!!

That’s great if he buys it. Kim

LOL He just called me about an hour ago, says he'll pick it up Sun/ Mon. Doesn't want any of the hardware/ steering he's going to paint it "cameo" and make a duck boat out of it with a "long tail swamp motor" Better yet, I won't come out behind on this, either

Well the Grand Ol' Lady is stripped of her dignity. Ready to sell and get converted into a duck boat. Behind, the 74 Scamp back on the trailer and ready to go to the glass shop next couple days

It's 2PM and the thermometer which should be fairly accurate says 109.2F

Hard to believe those temps you guys in the great NW are getting!
Currently 74F here in La Mirada (SoCal).

3:20PM it's 106.9F

Got the chrome windshield/ rear glass trim cleaned up, tho may leave it off until I find out if it leaks.

Got the trailer all hooked up to to to the glass shop early tomorrow morn

Got a good start on junking the latest "boat" As soon as the trailer comes back empty I'll sling the remains from the hoist and deposit on blocks on the flatbed, so I can saw up the bottom into manageable pieces. "Dump" requires 8' or less pieces. Saw the stern off about even with splash well, saw the bottom into 2-3 pieces and off to the dump. There are some fittings and parts to remove yet, that fancy bow ornament is a nav light!!!

U have more ambition than me Del. I cut grass for 3 hours with a push mower this morning. When it got to 90*F I shut it down. 95*F here now. Kim

I have actually been doing this "easy." Yeh I worked up a hell of a sweat, but I only work for 1/2hr- 3/4 hour after noon and take 1/2 hour in the house. A sawsall with the right blade makes fairly short work of the sides of the boat. The bottom is a bit different story LOL

Years and YEARS ago I helped a "then" friend junk out a big ol' homebuilt flat bottom barge/ party boat, plywood. Had a Chrysler marine flathead. 20' or more long, at least 8' wide. We used a chain saw. things were going well 'til I sawed across the bottom, and there was standing water. WHAM!! BLAM!! Stopped that saw!!! I offset the cut 3" or so and cut in from the other side. WHAMBO!!! 'EL KA WHAM!!! Turned out there was some sort of HUGE about 8" dia brass drain right in the middle of the boat. Hit that ***** TWICE!!!!
