2013 receipt for $1199! Actually in great shape structurally, triple tree is rusted pretty good but everything is straight, never been dumped. Rear tire has a little wiggle in it but its not the rim..? Brakes work, electrical is good: LED headlight is bright, brake light functional but left blinker seems to make both blink. Thing has an alarm on it with (2) key fob clickers! Guy had all receipts. Its a "3 speed" but its actually just a 3 step limiter for the max speed. Its a little 3 position rocker 1-2-3 but I don't think its smart enough to do anything except limit the voltage to the motor. Motor states its a 450W 60V (sticker still on the hub) --thing has very little miles on it from what I can see, no odometer as it resets whenever you turn it off.

and the whole 50 lb battery box(!) comes off the frame with the ignition key turned to 'release' (in Chinese) position. I about hurt my back trying to figure out how to get that pack off the frame, yanking it and trying to determine how it was secured.

It sits on there pretty good but makes a hell of a lot of plastic squeaking going down the road. Once I got it off and apart, I realized why the guy was only getting 10 miles to a charge. Batteries were wasted. 5 12v 12aH screw terminal batteries puffed up like dead rats. At $25 piece....?

Over charged...hot...old? Whatever...I knew they were bad from the start so out with the old and in with the new! 12v 8Ah AGM cells.

I lost 33% capacity but they were available 'no charge' as well as the bike so I'm out nothing, 'cept the .99 pool noodle I cut up for battery support! I may wire up 3 more in parallel off the back Swiss army knife 'cargo carrier' to get my current 40Ah up past the stock capacity of 60Ah

researching this model seems to indicate its a workhorse "heavy load" cargo type model with a 150Kg load rating and no rear suspension, yet it does have a swing arm but its supports are welded to the seat post. They had a model with a 600W motor and a sidecar! published 45-55Km range with the 12Ah batteries so Im thinking 30Km maybe with these new smaller cells. Thing weighs 100Kg (260 lbs) so I could possible ditch that 50 lb cargo carrier and make a 18650 battery pack at about 8 lbs to save some weight? I told the boy "I don't care if its pink and has a basket on it, you thank them for it". Well I wasnt far off with that assumption! When the guy met me, he shook my hand and said "I already like you" He said the way I handled the initial fax line trouble call and the soft inquiry about the "moped" with my offer to fix it for him or buy it off him made his mind up to give it to me instead of scrapping it. "I'm glad it is going to someone who can repurpose it properly". You got that right!
We thanked him profusely, got it loaded up and we left. We caught a red light and I had a chance to look at my boy. His eyes were slightly teared up and he said, "Dad...this thing is....AWESOME!" Damn, now I started to well up.
