Today, dollar for dollar, is the 318 faster than the 340 ???

they're the same locknut and screw adjusters my 318 has, was that a stock 340 setup? i was told my motor had 273 rockers but from what i've seen they all seem to be no locknut 'friction' type adjusters.

That's not a stock 340 set up. 273's came with a solid cam that's why the adjustable rockers.
