360: What engine brackets and motor mounts?

Hi all,

I dropped the 440 out of my 72 Dart. I'm selling it to my neighbor for his Challenger project. I have a 360 ready to drop into the “slightly hacked” small block k-frame that is original to the car. However, I’m having difficulty finding brackets/mounts. Can someone point me in the right direction?

You will need to start a wanted thread here. THere's always mounts and brackets wanted and sold here.
 
You need 340-360 engine mounts and then the biscuits (I prefer solid mounts for that) unless someone swapped in the junky spool mount K member. If that’s the case, you still need the engine mounts except for the spool mounts and some kind of new bushings because unless you can find new mounts, you can bet the original bushing will be shot.

It’s not a spool mount type K frame. The 440 I removed had the biscuit mounts.
 
yup, a 340/360 mount is what you'll need.

you are sure its a small block k-frame and not a 6 cyl one??

Yes, it was originally a 318 car. It’s definitely a small block K frame. Drivers side mount was mildly hacked to get the 440 in there. It’s repairable.
 
Hillbilly unbreakable motor mount - Take a biscuit mount, cut one bolt off and drill it out, all the way through the mount. Put a carriage bolt through it and tack weld it to the mount. Now you have an unbreakable mount that still rides on rubber. Serves the same function as a solid mount, only without the vibration. No cost….

Ok, what I started with was a biscuit motor mount that has the two offset bolts as shown in picture. I cut off one threaded bolt flush with the plate. Doesn't matter which one. Then I drilled out the remainder of the bolt all the way through the mount. Now there is a hole all the way through the mount.

Then I inserted a carriage bolt all the way through the mount so it sticks out just like the one I cut off. Only now it holds the two steel plates together. The motor mount can’t come apart when installed, as one of the bolts goes all the way through it.

A common complaint on the biscuit mounts if that they separate when too much torque is applied. This solves that problem for free. Only need it on the drivers side.
