Remove convertible top cylinders 68 Barracuda

My shop manual doesn't explain the process removing the cylinders. When the top is down in the well not much access to remove the power link clip to pull the top pin out. Any information
on a manual or step process would be helpful. Going to purchase the cylinders and replace the hoses from Classic.

On my 1969 Polara convertible, I removed the back seat to get to the motor, hoses, and wiring. I don’t recall if I had easer access to the cylinders.

I don't know about the a-body but on the 69 Polara the pins are more accessible with the top up.

That's all out. Pop up the motor grommets to get access to the fill hole, removed hose brackets.
I think what has to be done is raise the cover up just enough to get to the power link (top connection)
pull the clip and remove the pin then disconnect the lower mount and pull the cylinder out. Remove the hoses and
then remove only one cylinder at a time to help keep the top up at just the proper height. Once the cylinders are in
a single position with out the pump running. I think there will not be any pressure built up inside the cylinder. Probably
when I remove a hose on the first cylinder, it will leak out the ATF and compress down. Then tackle the next one with help holding the top up then down in the well when the cylinder is removed. Connect the hoses then bleed out the new cylinders, connect the lower mount (not sure how) I think there is mounting plates. Then with help lift the cover and at the same time switch on the pump to to extend the shaft close enough to install the upper pin (power link).
Any suggestion from rag top owners.

Put the top up manually and latch it, the top moves neutrally, it is not spring loaded and should stay where you leave it.

Sounds like leave the top up and latch it to do the repairs. That's to easy. Thought I had to leave the top in the well.
