Anyone have a list of Plymouth dealers in or around Bowie Maryland 20175 in 1970-1971?? The original owner of my car lived there. Anyone know if it’s possible to still find out where their car was originally sold without the original window sticker?? Thanks I’m advance guys!

I have had some success looking up old business directories for cities online. You could try that for Bowie MD, 1970. But there is no universal source for finding out the dealer where a particular car was sold. Occasionally, if the dealer is still in existence, you can get information from them about your car, but first you have to find the dealer.

If I didn't have the window sticker from my fastback, I never would have guessed the dealer: Hessel Implement Co., a tractor dealer in Gresham, OR.

You could check with the DMV of that area, they might have info on the first title / dealer title, also local chamber of commerce

Plymouth doesn't exist anymore.

I actually found the owners card from the original owner. I looked up relatives and sent a few people messages but haven’t gotten a reply yet. Would the dmv in Maryland have or tell me that info? Like where it was sold?

Just go there and ask old guys in cafes... or go to dealerships and ask .... they will know.

Don't know till you ask!

The dealer I assume would have had to file papers that it had the car to sell or the title might have dealer then transfer to 1st owner.

Maybe loan docs etc.

Well I called Maryland dmv. The only information they have in their history is the title number and that it’s a Plymouth . I did join a page on Facebook and put out a post. Maybe someone knew the original owner?

Does the owners card have a 5 digit number on it? That could be the dealership number.

There were quite a few dealerships in and around the DC area. Chrysler Corp had an office in Bowie back in the 80's. That's about all I could come up with.

List of current Plymouth dealers. (see below)

.
When I bought my 1968 Barracuda it had the original owners manual-warranty booklet in the original plastic pouch in the glove box. The car had been stored since 1980 and was very complete and original. Also in there was a dealer brochure listing hours, departments and phone numbers. The dealer that sold it was Northside Chrysler Plymouth. That building is still there and is a used car / car repair shop. Most of the car lot area have those u store it rental spaces built on it.

Here’s one. Still around also

anyone know what part they put on in 1979?

Just looked at my list. I have 65 dealers listed in Maryland and 4 in DC. Need a little more info.

If you have the certicard, it might have the 5 digit dealer number on it. Also, did you look for a build sheet in your car. Might find one taped to the top of the glove box or under the front seats. Also under the rear seat or the rear seat back. If you find one, be very careful in removing it. The paper is 50 years old and very brittle.
