1970 Swinger 340 hood black out

Anyone know if the hood/fender leading-edge chrome was a mandatory option when you got the hood black out treatment from the factory?

Hood molding (M43) was standard on all 70 340 Dart Swingers along with the scoops , rallye dash and exhaust tips.
On the performance hood treatment (V21), there were no pinstripes. The black out went from ridge to ridge.

There are a lot of "Swinger 340s" around without the trim though... guess they're all clones like mine. :p
 
A lot of guys took the trim off that didn't like it
 
I like the trim, but it is sometimes hard to find a set that isn't dinged up. maybe that is why folks remove it..I dunno.

Thanks for posting that, I figured that the previous owner of my '70 just removed all the hood molding for whatever reason, but theres no M43 on the fender tag...
My "swinger" seems to be a real "stripper" haha :lol:
