SIRIUS XM radio for less than half price!

Love Sirius XM

I’ve never paid more than $60 for a full year, but the taxes/fees are 30% on top of that. (13% Government tax and 17 or 18% Royalty fee). So it’s critical to keep paying the lowest price possible because the taxes/fees really multiply at the higher subscription price.

A few weeks ago I noticed 3 charges on my credit card bills over the previous 3 months for $22.63 each month. I realized that I forgot to cancel my subscription before the renewal date and was now being charged the full rate of $272 for the year.

I called Sirius to cancel and the agent asked what can we do to keep a loyal 6 year customer? So I said “If you credit me back the 3 months of $22.63 each, move my subscription to my summer car (which they charge $15 for the car change) and give me 1 year for $60 on each of my 2 radios, I’ll renew right now” They guy puts me on hold and comes back an says “okay we’ll do it”
I thought there was no way they would agree to that, but they did.

One of my radios is a portable one that I move between my Dart (played through the factory AM thumbwheel using a Redi-Rad) and my Toyota Highlander. Classic Vinyl or 60’s on 6 gives me the period correct vibe cruising in my Dart.

I listen to Sirius XM all the time at work through my computer too.
I started with XM radio when it was new tech back in the late 90’s. I have been a subscriber for 20 + years. Always went through the yearly price negotiation, I never paid full price. However as time passed it seems that SirusXM has morfed into everything that was bad about over the air radio. Too much DJ talking. I would find myself changing stations just to get away from the ‘Radio Personalities’. I listen to radio to get music, not to hear some idiot talk.
I cancelled and went with Spotify.
I had previously tried the free Spotify and it was ok. The subscription Spotify is fabulous. Any artist-Any song -Anytime. There are full albums, play lists with out end. And did I say, it’s all music, no DJ’s.
And one more thing, the sound quality of the paid Spotify is crazy good. Listening across the same equipment, SiriusXM and free Spotify are about the same for sound. The paid Spotify is remarkably better. It is amazing. Since I left SiriusXM I get an email daily offering a $5.00 monthly rate. Once my 3 month free Premium Spotify trial is over I will be paying $9.99 per month. And to me that is a bargain, because it is all music and it’s all the music that I choose.
