Automatic Transmission Shifts without button press

Take the shifter apart, sounds like previous owner might have rigged something. An Allen key and turning the knob handle ccw takes it off I believe. There should be a spring in there and a cable. Get a manual too.

I'll be sure to try that. Won't be able to try until tomorrow but I'll bev sure to take it apart.

Interesting. So once I get it apart it should just be a matter of loosening the threads on the button that connect to the cable?
