I had a very successful trip to the PNP yesterday, and found a couple of power steering coolers that had been unhooked and were just lying there so I picked them up. I'm finishing my new power steering pump setup so if I were to add a cooler, now is the time. This would be going on my 82 D150 slant truck. Is a cooler a good idea or necessary? I live in WA so it's not an exceptionally warm area most of the time.

As RRR says, thank you and drive through...

performance cars, which run high speeds, and/or have high numerical rear axle gears came with PS coolers from Ma Mopar.

Unless you're doing autocross or some serious corner carving, they're not needed.

Years ago on Vashon a friend had a total stripper /6 Volare. White 4 door, rubber floors, no radio- ZERO options, but it did have a PS cooler. We guessed it was part of a govt or fleet package.

Thanks for the input folks. I opted to leave it off, corner carving is hardly the strong suit for a half ton slanty. :D

My 70 440-6 RR came with a PS cooler. I did remove it at some point
