What's the difference between steering columns?

My car has a floor shift.

I have an old steering column in my 72 Duster that came from a column shift car. The horn is not installed and the turn signal stick works but feels like it could snap off any time.

The lower bearing needs replacing and I was thinking that since the steering column needs to come out, I might as well replace the whole column with a new one.

Looking online, I see what looks like nice tilt adjustable columns from around $200 all the way up to $1200. I know that "you get what you pay for" holds true in a lot of instances, but has anyone used and been happy with, some of the lower priced columns?
