Bunny vs. Hawk

I have a pretty healthy population of red tailed hawks and a few eagles around my house and woods. It's common to find piles of feathers under some of their perches. I watched a small harrier type hawk grab a mourning dove out of the yard a couple winters ago!

The most interesting one was when I found a wing off a pretty large bird out back. I spooked a great horned owl out of tree pretty close to where I found the wing. It flew away with something in his talons that was pretty large. Wasn't sure what it was, so I grabbed a few feathers off the wing and did an internet search. Ended up being a red tailed hawk, so something larger definitely got a hold of it! Probably the owl! The circle of life!
