I finely pulled the trigger on ordering some buckets seat covers from Legendary to complete my seat conversation on my Barracuda. When I got the order conformation back they stated that the lead time to ship will be 196 days. WTF, this is bad.

Wow! Apparently they are having some manufacturing delays like everyone else. Noone can seem to find decent employees theses days. Im hoping that's just a typo!

Legendary has always been slow. With all the different products they produce I bet they don't warehouse much except for raw materials.

Probably material shortage. I work in the plastic distribution business and we have lead times up to 20 weeks on some materials

I work in plastics also and we are months behind on some customers! We had a resin shortage due to the ice storms in Texas back in February or March and it set us a few months behind.

I just got my front seat cover from Legendary last week. My wife ordered it in December as a Christmas present. Well worth the wait. Looks just like the original, minus the wear, rips, and tears. These things aren’t laying around on the shelf, they’re using the original material and making new covers.

It takes 190 days for a ship to travel from China to America???

No, it starts with material shortages-the various chemicals need to be reacted with each to make the plastic. Some does come from China, but a lot is made state side, too. When everybody shut down last year, some material manufacturers did to. When things started moving in 3rd quarter, it created a supply issue, since manufacturers were shipping from inventory and not replenishing anything. So, demand outpaced supply and the plants take a while to get up to speed-not just a flip off switch. Between hurricanes and the Southern Freeze, it was a perfect storm.

Think of it this way, They make upholstery for dozens of brands. Within each brand are decades of years they make products for. Within 1 year are a dozen models and within each model are 3 or so trim levels. Within each trim level are a half a dozen colors. Wait patiently for your seat covers. You aren't the only one in line! We are lucky to have such a quality product available to us. It's worth the wait.

Damn!
That's beautiful!

I first contacted Legendary in May of 2020. Never got a call back of any kind, even after repeated attempts to order in interior kit. Finally decided to go through Dante's. He gave me a timeline of 20 weeks or so. Been a bit over half that at this point, so, we'll see.....

I ordered mine for my bench seat 70 Swinger back in March or April( I forget now) all I know is they are "due in": by August. I guess I can start getting excited now...? The seat "stuffing' kits came in pretty quick...the whole interior is piling up in my spare bedroom, carpet, headliner, door panels, and seat kits. Waiting for the "Upholstery.." LOL! :)

I got to have a seat, darn springs poking me in the ***!!!!
Houston Mexicans can sew some good chit IF they can get the vinyl!!!!

When I checked expected shipping dates, Dante's was about 3 months quicker. Hopefully that's true.

I ordered seat foam and upholstery for both the Barracuda convertible and GTS convertible and several other parts on April 24. They said 180 days. I've had the seat foam for a while now. Top and carpet came in for the Barracuda today. I ordered when I did to take advantage of a sale they were having and to get the stuff BEFORE I need it.

I also placed an order in December when they had their sale. I got the door panels in April I think, and didn't get the seat covers until the middle of June.

Got another box today (wish the drivers would ring the doorbell...). Console carpet and both top boots. I love it when a plan come together.

Went over my list this afternoon. The only thing I don't have yet is the seat covers for both cars. We're at 77 days right now. Not bad, in my opinion.

I wanted new door panels for my 68 Barracuda they told me 28 weeks (6 months) I am ALL ABOUT BUYING AND SUPPORTING AMERICAN COMPANIES BUT WTF??? I ordered my door panels from PG Classics and had them in 3 days. I know they're imported but they look good.
I went to Carlisle this past weekend and didn't even bother stopping in the Legendary booth and honestly don't even know why they were there??? "Here's a catalog with stuff you can have next year"

Sat with a buddy in Legendary's tent at Carlisle Saturday while he took advantage of their 20% off show special - they quoted 30 weeks - end of January/early February for availability.

Wow! That looks like my '70 Swinger 340 with the B7 interior! Details would be greatly appreciated, TMM.
