A good video about oil filters

-
Yeah that's a goodun. I've used Motorcraft ever since I was a kid working as an apprentice at the local Ford dealer in Macon. We had to cut the filter open and unroll the media in a warranty claim. It was so long, we got curious and cut a few more open under the instruction of the warranty rep, because he wanted a comparison. I think I remember we cut open three more brands. The Motorcraft had more and better media than all of them. I was sold. Never had a problem with one either......well......sorta. I built a 350 Chevy one time using a big block HV/HP oil pump. If a lot of oil pressure was good, a whole damn lot had to be better. When I fired it off, it twisted an old Stewart Warner 100 PSI gauge all the way over and LAID it on the stop peg. It didn't MOVE. After about a minute or so, it blew the oil filter OFF the engine, so I swapped oil pumps.

What was a good filter "yesterday" may be **** today. These greedy corporate MF's will sell out the manufacturing for cheaper $$ over night. Project Farm on youtube is excellent for present day unbiased comparisons.
