After some long and hard thinking, I and going to stop building transmissions on a national and global scale. I can not to continue to do the job of five guys anymore. The stress is going to kill me. The shop is busier then ever before. But it is totally impossible to find skilled workers to keep up with the demand.
I spent my life growing CRT and now I have to limit the growth of the bizness.
If you have a transmission on order at this time, it will get done. However I am not taking any new orders on complete transmissions and going to limit the in car services at the shop.
I am going to focus on the parts end of the bizness, offer more technical videos, more technical support to the customer.
I have more new products coming soon.

That's a shame. I've worried about John for a while now. He's a big guy. I know runnin that place has to be a lot of stress. I wish him the best. He's a good dude.

I have a 904 he built that is going in my dart in a couple of weeks, great business to work with

too bad , u were one of the guys on my future hit list .

Ugghh...sorry to learn of this. The 727 in my 72 Demon is a CRT trans. Great trans builder!!

I have been saving up for a few years now to get a kickass CRT 904 i guess that wont happen . i wish him good health and piece of mind . i will just buy his parts and do it myself .

^^^THIS^^^ Buy good parts and do it yourself...
You men do the hard work of taking it out and putting it back in and send it off for big bucks to have the easy work done.....
After i built my first one i couldn't believe how easy it was. I say this all the time if another person can do it why can't i.

That's the same experience I had...
When I was done I was thinking that's it!? That's what's been scaring me all this years!?.. hopefully my 727 for my Power Wagon will make its way to my workbench this winter and I wouldn't let anybody else touch it if they paid me.. one thing for sure if you want something done right do it yourself that way you know every parts put in correctly...
And of course I'm not saying this Cope guy isn't great.. I'm just saying rebuilding a 904 or 727 is not rocket science and not even close...

John Cope is an awesome guy I've done some Facebook conversations with him before and he's always been cool.

He is a great guy. (And no, Im not him.)

I bought all his parts after @j par talked me into rebuilding my 904.
Now I have a bad *** race 904 that cost less than 2K.

Its said that he cant find the help he needs.

For all our Georgia members, @Bighead440 owns and operates a transmission shop in Milledgeville, Georgia and is a Mopar specialist. He races them too. Been doin it a long time.

It’s a shame our business owners are playing against a stacked deck. Our Country always promoted small businesses with open arms. Never met you John but have bought a few parts off of you. My black duster had a CRT 727 transmission in it when I bought it. My buddy did all the freshening when needed. When I switched to powerglide my son ran it for years and I just sold it to an Abodiesonly member and now he’s enjoying it. Good luck with your future John and I hope the playing field levels. Even today some of our own members can’t see and understand what is going on.

I'm failing to see the massive disaster here.. the biggest transmission parts Enterprise Warehouse in town started as a transmission shop... They transitioned to selling parts and now have a massive Warehouse several employees and sell transmission parts worldwide... They throw one of the biggest car shows of the year that inundates an entire neighborhood with cars giving away free hot dogs and Pepsi... Hopefully he makes lemonade out of lemons and ends up on the phone and behind a desk making eight times more money selling parts and 1/10 of the work...
