1969 Barracuda 383 Cold Case Radiator

-
A BB barracuda apparently is very rare. We had never run into one or at least any owners that purchased a radiator solved that hose issue. That being said, now that we see that the outlet could be over more, we're going to update our production and include this mod in future releases.

Unfortunately all that takes a while and hence the reason we are offering a refund instead of a replacement.

We're sorry you have to go through this but you've now helped future BB A-body owners be able to use the OEM hose in the future.

They are not that rare actually! Many were produced from 67-69 with some 440's scattered in there!

I don't think I could get the hose attached to the rad with a spring in it. With the rad mounted to the body and the motor with some movement on the rubber mounts, the hose would not probably last long. My original rad is 2949065. It may be a good idea to consider a recore. Any suggestions on details of a recore for better cooling.
Have you tried a B-Body lower hose, the bend is not as sharp, as for your MOPAR Radiator I will purchase it from you please PM if you want to sell.

I could not source an 065 in my time frame to drive again, I was to anxious! This 033 for 68 BB cars fits the same! I may have got one of the last units they reproduced and glad I pulled the trigger when I did!

Glenray does some great work!

I just got mine back from Glenn Ray. The rad is a 294065 I have a question I know that this radiator was installed in 1969 A-body BB cars, the question is are the side mounting brackets different for a Dart versus a Barracuda, reason being my brackets are not lining up with the mounting holes on the support, the rad is a 22-inch thanks.

2949065?

Dart and Barracuda 1969 383/440 cars used the 065 radiator. Should be drop in!

Pics are worth 100 words!

Maybe you did not get the core back that you sent to Glen Ray.

Wow,

Left side looks spot on but the right side is way over!

A call to Bob @ Glenray is in order.

I still ask 2949065?

Mine is a 1968 2898033 in my 69 Fish, But the mounting dimensions are identical!

Is your core support Factory to your 69 Dart?

It looks so! Maybe an AMD repro?

62 Corvettes aren't rare either. I did restoration work on one at a friends shop a year or so ago. We used a Cold Case radiator. It was an ill fittin asshole. We used it long enough to get the car runnin and engine broken in but replaced it with a custom Griffin that fit perfectly and threw the Cold Case in the scrap pile. I made mention of it at the time here on another thread and was pretty much told "that's how it is because no two cars were the same." It was funny too, because we had two 62 Corvettes in at the same time for restoration. Both 327 4 speed cars. One 300HP and the other 340HP. That radiator fit both cars exactly the same way.....which was not at all. The mount nubs on the radiator were off the same compared to where they inserted into the cross member on both cars by the exact same amount. But that's just "how they are". At least it's not Mopar specific.....they get at least two makes wrong. lol

With a rough total of 8,000 383 Darts and Barracuda's built for years 1967 thru 1969 I would have to guess that some would say that they're rare.

Still no excuse for ill fittin POS parts. Parts should fit as advertised, rare application or not.

Yeah like that hasn't happened ever with vehicles that have a 50,000 production number, however my point was in reference to a comment that they aren't rare.

I hear you, no reason why it shouldn't fit this Dart 69 GTS is 1 of 746 that's why I snatched it from the woods 4-speed disc brakes delete stripe. Does anyone have the measurement for the radiator mounting holes in the support, I'm checking every possible angle much appreciated.

I'm more surprised at the response from CC. "Sorry for the problem, here's your money back, and hey we can't help you, but now we can help others later...much later". American ingenuity is better than that. JMO

Is that the total number of 69 383 dart's or the 4 speed's?

Also I've made a zillon (maybe not a zillon) of engine/rad swaps and just try different hoses till one fits. Measure the od of the rad. outlet and go to the parts store and look them over till you find a tight bend and you may have to splice 2 together to get her done. Just done this on my skid steer.
