Howdy all. My neighbor has this 74 land cruiser that he wants to sell. Thinking of buying it and want to offer him a fair price. Thought maybe somebody could give me some feedback. Here is what i know. From missouri owned since 1988. Used just for plowing. Motor runs great, needs a slave cylinder, tires are shot, has rust on the back doors, hatch, and floor lip on the back. Floors are solid. A few rust spots below passenger and drivers doors in the same spot. Dont know much about these so any feedback is appreciated thanks

Those things are a million dollars out here.

Looks like a jeep! Never seen one of those before pretty cool I like it! I bet it would be hard to find parts for it! I'd say its worth 1500

Was it @Cope who restored one for a customer?

I seem to remember him posting some custom sheet metal he'd made for it

Yeah we own it now. They are cool. Id say that one is easy 3-5K as is. Out here it could get 8K.
Id offer 1,500.00.

Here's ours.

This is back when we fist got it back. Its a lot nicer now.

Funny story about this "truck" it started out as a FJ60 like the one you are looking at.
We built this by hand. The entire body is 1/4" steel diamond plate. We built the frame. Everything is hand made. The only Toyota parts left are the windshield surround, the hood and the grill. We threw this truck in the dumpster one part at a time...(we should have kept it all but we dont have room.) so.. we get it all done

The guy comes to pick it up, looks at it and says........ "it would be cool if it was a truck.."

WHAT THE ****!!!

so we cut it in half and made a truck. Fj65 It never even drove as a FJ60......

That's an FJ40. Built like tanks. They go for stupid money in restored or really good shape.

Those things in Aus are worth the mint nearly, in that state they go for a minimum of $5000 up, they are just about indestructible, the father in law had 2 on his farm, one like that the other a tray back ex mines truck would not do over 35 mph but would pull the bend out of a river, the other was like the one pictured, sideways seating in the back, after f- in - law died stupid wife of his ( my wife’s step mom) sold the pair for $500, did not care when told her she could have gotten ten time that each.

all true. big money here also. would love to get one for my son.

Never saw the attraction to those things. Aside from cult following jacking up the dollars, tell me why I should want one. And good luck with that.

gimme one of these any day..
