Thanks for the kind words, but that remains to be seen. This customer has expectations that in the past have been umm, inconsistent. At one point all he cared about was "700hp" and he had that in the first configuration 466 with a higher strung 726hp- he brought it back to me later that summer and said it was too wild and to "de-tune it some" So in went some bigger dish pistons and the XR280- almost 660hp and 620 tq and he seemed satisfied although he did remark that it can't bark the tires into 4th anymore (rolls eyes). Fast forward to this winter and he admits to getting the carb and timing so far out of whack that he repeatedly floods the engine and now it uses oil. He winds up calling Indy for a 500 inch crate (600/600) and tells me its only $10,000 US. So I call Indy because he wants black INDY valvecovers and ask the nice lady about their crate program- she kindly explains that they are custom built to order and the price reflects that. In short I think Im giving him what he really wants but maybe didn't know how to ask for it? Time will tell, I think this much torque and how smooth it loads and the throttle response should make this a really fun engine to drive. J.Rob
P.S. I almost don't want to share the dyno results right away because I know he thinks he needs 700hp and he's going to be let down by only 600hp.
