On my 64 Valiant, I want to get the hood to radiator support seal and the hood to cowl seals. I see where the cowl seal was. The clips are actually still in the holes. There are no holes however in the radiator support or in the hood where it would meet the support when it closes. Did some not come with those seals or is that seal an aftermarket add on?

I don't know about your '64 Valiant, but my '66 Dart had one. It attaches to the hood structure with 11 holes spaced across the span. Don't know if it was model or year specific, or was part of a cooling package- mine was a dealer A/C car with a 273 and the metal radiator shroud.

I cruised pick & pull & bought a handful of under hood rubber for $5 and improvised. Don’t look original, but work fine.

Yeah, and that's all I am after. Functionality. Regardless, they're cheap enough.

I never seen a 64 Valiant with a rad support-hood seal, only the cowl seal. The 1964 Valiant hood (part 2425362) is different than the 1964 Barracuda hood (part 2493580). The 65 hoods are the same for Barracuda and Valiant (part 2493580) and it is the same number for the 64 Barracuda.

but Detroit Muscle offers one.
DMT is not always right.
He originally thought barracuda and dart convertible rear top to body seals were the same. And he shares that they should be white. I have evidence that the dart at least are black from 2 different cars and from different years, my 67 and a 68/69. I called the size and pieces difference out to him and he made a new set for the darts

I gotchya. Thanks. I may try some universal weatherstrip I got from the parts store. I don't know if it's thick enough but they have some thicker. I'm not necessarily looking for "correct", just something that does the job. Thanks for that.

FYI I have found that on Early B Bodies too. Some of the rad supports have holes for seals and some do not.

Went through this as well. Looked through a yard with many early A’s and could not really come to a conclusion what drove a car to have it. Some do and don’t. Maybe factory AC was a common denominator, maybe.

Jim.

@RustyRatRod Rob, is this what your after? Easy DIY, just get some semi flexible rubber strip and maybe use a heat gun to persuade it to maintain an L shape while up. you can see one of the push hairpins. This is 1965 Barracuda barn find original.
