Magnum 360 Timing Cover

Hey Professor!

That's what I'm being told. I purchased a bare 360 block sight-unseen from my engine builder, and it's currently at the machine shop getting rough bored for my stoker assembly. My builder said it was a Magnum that was in a 92' Truck. He's sending me the casting number today to confirm.

I live in the middle of nowhere in Oregon, so trying to source parts has been difficult. The nearest junk yard is 2 hours away, so I'm having to rely on my builder's competence + FABO to find items. Been challenging.

Jim

Thanks,
Jim

This is a Magnum block. Note the 3 cast in lugs around the center core plug- those are the bosses for the Magnum engine (truck) mount brackets, and are not present on any LAs. That said, there's not much difference in the LA 360and early Magnum 5.9 blocks- the magnum timing cover will physically fit an LA; but FYI you must also use the magnum reverse rotation water pump and serpentine drive with that cover. For standard rotation use an LA cover and pump, even on a Magnum.
