Almost done with the underside of my 66. Got the 727 installed yesterday and driveshaft is on order. Only things left on the underside are finishing plumbing the brakes and installing the 1/2" fuel and return lines, and of course exhaust. Little by little...

Finished up the front suspension, fuel system, and underside of my 66 and got it back on all four's for the first time in about 10 yrs. Definitely needs softer springs in the front. It's got 400lb springs now. I'll have to do some math, but I'm thinking 350's will put me right where it needs to be. Even gave it it's first bath for the first time since I've owned it.

Next is building a set of headers/manifolds and running exhaust.

Are you by chance the fellow I bought trim from? Your car looks familiar.

If you own a 66 Dart please respond to this post. There seems to be a lot of us here lately. Post your favorite photo of your car too. toolmanmike
I’m going to be selling my 1966 Road race Dart if anyone is interested? $18 K

vintage legal with log book. Only updates needed are seatbelts and fuel cell.

Yup! except for a few non-stock items. I know, I'm being picky....and hypocritical since mine won't be dead stock either! :drama::lol:

Pretty sure that 727 didn't fit real easy???
Trying my hand at doing a 66 Dart. Lots of work but I'm ok with that.

727 fit without issue when I bought my car. Had to mod the seam to fit the Lakewood bellhousing

It is VERY tight. I had to raise the trans tunnel a little and eliminate the pinch weld. Some folks get away with just hammering the pinch weld flat. I wasn't that lucky. What did help a lot is cutting a couple holes in the firewall to access the top two bolts. I made a couple cover plates that screw down to cover those holes.

Looks like you're getting some good work done on your 66! Be careful with the car that high in the air.

This pix was the sand blaster doing the work. I was the smarter guy taking the pix!
This is its older brother! A 1/4 mile car. The 66 Dart GT I want to be an EFI car street driver

Hello fellow 66 Dart owners, I have a 66 Dart GT with a factory slant and power steering no AC, any suggestions on a new radiator that fits our cars without modification. So far I'm batting 0-2 on new radiators. Budget minded, the Champion C6566 does not fit, by the way.

Hopefully you still have your original copper radiator so you can pay attention to the hell the brackets mount the actual core inside the radiator support to get the proper distance you need. The best plan is to go to a local Radiator shop and have them build you a copper radiator and maximize your frontage area within your radiator core support or possibly even open up your core support opening.

Anyone that is interested I created a 1966 Dodge Dart GT only group on Facebook just search for 1966 Dodge Dart GT Group and it should come up, photo is a vintage brown convertible from the factory brochure. Be a cool place to talk specifically about the 1966 GT trim line.

I am a member of the 63-66 Dart group in Facebook. It's a good group. There's a lot of similarities in the early Darts so a group like that makes good sense. 1963 -1966 Dodge Dart Owners

Yes its a good group I'm a member there too. I just wanted something dedicated just to the 66 GT, I'm selfish. Plus the 66 was the odd ball, 1 off before the next gen.
