If the OP only bumped the starter a few times and not even a full revolution. I doubt it got into the torque converter. I'd do the open up the pan, remove the yoke, and the speedometer gear, drain it out, blow it out, unhook the coolent lines and blow them out too. Then hook up the cooler correctly, refill with trans fluid start it and run it. Then do a dump n change after 25 miles but that's just me.

I tend to agree. I think he's gonna be ok.
 
Im glad to hear you did'nt storm down to Griffin with pitchforks and torches in hand, lol.
