I don't know who was the first. Henry Ford built one of these decades earlier

............And according to wiki, was not the first, either

Screw-propelled vehicle - Wikipedia

"One of the first screw-propelled vehicles that was actually built was designed by James and Ira Peavey of Maine. It was patented by Ira Peavey in 1907; the Peavey family has been famous for its contributions to the lumber industry ever since blacksmith Joseph Peavey of Stillwater, Maine, invented the tool known to this day as a Peavy. The Peavey Manufacturing Co. is still located in Maine.["

That thing is frigging great. I have a few places I'd love to take it for a spin. The first place would be the great lawn.
Lol

It might not have been first, but since it was a slant, it's the coolest.

Judging by the sideways movement, that may work really well with four transverse mounted screws under it. It'd be awful to have stupid money, too many things to try!

RRR- that thing is cool.

the line at the end, “nothing can stop it.” Lol! Today- environmental mentals would stop that thing in a heart beat - that thing tears up the wetlands. You and I are old enough to remember feeling proud of our military as kids. Knowing they could go anywhere needed with cool vehicle like that. I’m still proud of our military but they leave less of a foot print today for sure.

To coin a phrase- “that thing was screwing!”

The kids had one of these years back. It was fun in the dirt and sand. The grass, not so much. R/C of course
