Yesterday I discover my 14 Ram with 38k miles needed rear brake pads. So this morning early I moved the Dart out of the shop and put the truck on the lift to replace the brakes, rotate the tires and change the oil. When I removed the tires it was evident the rotors were junk too. After a couple calls I found what I needed about 20 minutes away.

My wife was at work so that left the Dart to chase parts. It was built to drive so I wasn't expecting any issues and didn't have any. Except for some jacka$$es in a ragged out Chrysler convertible that thought they were being cute messing with for about four miles on the four lane coming out of town.

It's pretty cool to run some mid 6.20's on Saturday night and go get parts with it on Monday.

In all it's filthy glory.

I have admired that car for a while! I mean what's not to love - a 9 second, small block Dart Custom 270 that still has the trim on it!

Izzat F4 green or...?

Was red paint on sale!?

Just fun'in ya. Nice 69, I love that green.

I got my turd on the road this summer after 24 years of "restoration". Sometime it's nice to drive a simple basic car.

new rotors after 33K, :soapbox: Dang, what did the pads look like?

The inside pads were wore out, the first thing I thought was that the calipers were stuck but it wasn't the case. Apparently the rotors have a hard coat on them, don't know if it's spray arced or what but moisture gets between the two layers of metal and rust starts and the outer layer starts flaking off. My buddy runs a repair shop so stopped on my way to pick up the new parts and showed them to him and he said it was a common deal, GM does the same thing. Another example of throw away parts on newer vehicles.

bummer. MB as some weird nano coated rotors too, not serviceable either. Heck the rotors on my 2014 Grand caravan were said to be able to be turned once then trash. WTH?

I think f4 is 70 only

Your idea of "filthy" is vastly different from mine, lol. Beautiful car.

Thanks flyfish. If I took a photo from the top you'd see how dirty it is, LOL. It sits in the shop and dust settles on the hood, roof and trunk lid. I did polish the wheels a couple months ago. :D

Sweet car bro!
You da man..my Mopar hero!

Thanks Don, but I'll be ashamed to park mine beside yours. The photo is of the good side, the passengers fender has been replaced and over the years the color difference has become very pronounced. That's why I post images of the passengers side. :(

Old photo from Bowling Green when it had the 340 and 8 3/4 under it.
