Please don't tell me you tightening up a long bolt there that goes into #1 cylinder??

Yes those bolt threads have to be sealed with aviation sealer, too keep coolant from seeping out.

__________

What's up with that cam chain tensioner, more parts to go wrong.

Good fiiting double roller chain keeps the timing right on, without the extra parts.

To each their own, but looks like trouble.

Nope a short bolt. But I forgot to put sealant on it. All is good. Don't panic. I've gotten this far with no screw ups. I missed dab of pipe sealant. Not the end of the world. ONLY a few drips before I caught it.
Update: I looked at my spare 340 block. Yup that hole goes right into a coolant passage.

Got a hair and fired the fish back up today, not good IMO!

As I now here a scraping noise that sounds like a bearing! Seems it may be going into hibernation for who knows how long!

My health is going south quickly so who knows. Car may be up or sale before long!
Keep the stress low and get well.

Fixed my Coolant leak. And it's holding pressure. :) Hey I'm not perfect. But smart enough to find it & correct the issue.

Took the Truck over to the Henderson MN Tuesday Afternoon Historic Cruise-In. About 1 1/2 hours away.

Hot Day, Summer is going by fast. Got to take the days when you get them.

Good Pulled Pork sandwiches over there.

Degree-ing my camshaft that I should have done when I built the motor. It was 8 degrees retarded. Now it is correct, per the cam card

I have been having problems with my car's electrical, it would rev up partially, then die off as though it was running out of fuel. After some troubleshooting, it seemed that it was losing voltage, which I assumed to be the cause. Tonight I wired in a toggle switch directly from the battery to the MSD box, giving it over 12 volts which seems to have alleviated that issue, but it still feels like it has a submarine tied to the rear bumper, I have 4.10 gears in the rearend, but it will not spin the tires, starting to wonder if it could be convertor.
Decided to go for a road test, I had just left my house, gone about a mile or so, when the thought occurred to me that it's been since last year that I put gas in the tank, and of course my gauge doesn't work. I contemplated heading for the Costco gas bar, about a half mile away, but decided that it would be fine, and turned in a different direction. Damn if I didn't get about a mile down the road when she started to crap out. Yup, dumbass ran out of gas, and don't have a can in the trunk either. I was only about 2 blocks from my buddy's house, so I called him, he's out on his motorcycle, about 2 hours away, crap. But he says his son is home and he will call him and have him bring me some gas, cool. Now I just have to ignore all the other drivers coming by, giving me the nasty looks because my POS is dead on the road. Meh, whatever. Kid shows up with the lawnmower gas can, about 2 gallons, and I'm rolling again, tell him to meet me at the nearest gas bar so I can fill it up again. Put $50.00 in my car and head off to continue my road test, still feels sluggish, can hear the secondaries opening, but just ain't right. Bring it home and set it up on the hoist to check a few things, damned if the left front wheel isn't locked up, caliper seized. Next!

Old stuff, normal

Back in the day We’ed ride around everywhere and no tools in the trunk, now i’m afraid to go to the store without the whole tool box stuffed to the top.
I used to always carry a small toolbox with what I considered the basic essentials, and a gas can too!

I got a flathead screwdriver in my console.... thats it... and I've been daily driving my car here in Missouri...

My daughter asked if WE could wash the car today... Of course I'd love to wash it with you sweetie... after 5 minutes she takes off to play with her friend and I finished washing it by myself... now I need to wax it again...

My 2yr old had fun though
