Does anyone know the driveshaft length for a 1970 340 Dart Swinger Torqueflight Trans?

The service manual doesn't list it......

I got this car in parts and have to make sure I have the right one balanced and fitted with new joints.

Thank you

You know there is multiple TorqueFlight transmissions right? 904, 727, A518 and a bunch of other ones... and another member asking the same question yesterday.

Best is to have the motor, transmission, rear end all in the car, with 200 pounds of ballast in the cab, car on the ground and measure per the drive line shops info request.

Well there is only one length of driveshaft for a 70 Dart Swinger 340 because they all had an 8-3/4 rear with the 727 trans, no other trans except 3 or 4-speed was available. The length c/c is 47.99" and 3.25" diameter...

make sure the shaft you use, and the yokes, are all the same size u-joint

The 1350 u joint is a good upgrade but costs about 250 bucks to make this change. Dr Diff has the slip yolk, and diff flange/yolk. Most driving shops have the weld flange/yolks in stock...

They are both small pattern size.
It’s a stock rebuild number match car.
Is that shaft kit like the Direct Connection used to sell with the u-bolts?
Not sure if it’s necessary but I will look into it thank you.
The engine Dyno was 313 HP

I have a drive shaft with a big joint at the trans and a small joint at the diff. Is there a problem with this?

Which side do ya think will **** the bed first? Ever drop a drive line? I have and it super sucks and not in a good way...

probably not. you running a BB on 10" slicks, yes. street car, i'd take my chances

I ran a dual pattern 7260 and 7290 on my 69 Dart Swinger race car that ran in the 12's with no issues. I could change out rear chunks no matter what yoke they had...
