Looking for some opinions on what's a decent battery. I currently have a napa one that's about 4 1/2 years old and I just don't think it's holding a charge as good as it used to. Thinking of going to a AGM battery because they are more deep cycle. I was looking at Odyssey batteries and kinda liked the amount of reserve power they have.
Current battery is a BCI 47 but a BCI 24f would work. The positive is on the right side.

Be careful of AGM be sure they are meant for automotive STARTING and not just RV/ deep cycle. I don't know much about them, but some are not meant for starting batteries

Awesome battery I use in all my cars downside very expensive & heavy as the plates are pure lead

I'm not so much worried about the weight. I just want something that I can run my fan and water pump for about 10min after a pass and not worrying about it draining the battery fully. Dual fans and electric water pump.

Ausa66, do you have the performance line or the extreme line?

Extreme i have flattened down to 2 volts a couple of times still charges to full capacity also has a slightly higher terminal voltage so your fans & pump run a bit faster ,stays charged for 2 years as long as terminal is disconnected.
Painted black red was a bit loud for my engine bay

Get a big interstate. Had my car all rewired 2 years ago, which makes a huge difference, and havent had a battery charger within 100 yards of it since… going rounds, running electric water pump and fan.
Cranks like its 16 volts

my red top is 12 or more years old and still works the same as it did new .

I put a Optima yellow top in my one race car back in 2016 after the battery took a crap. My other car the Mopar Performance battery took a crap this spring after 7 years so I replaced it with a Interstate AGM MTZ-34 battery. The Interstate has 50 more CCA and was a little cheaper than an Optima since my Father In Law is a dealer. I run an alternator on both cars and usually just top of the battery before the race weekend to be sure, but I don't even think that's necessary, but just a habit of mine.

Doesn’t the same company that makes or made the Die Hard batteries make Interstate too? I had to get a battery for the DD four years ago and I thought the two brands were made by the same place.

Odyssey, have had one in my 14-1 compression car now for 5 years and going with ZERO issues. I wouldn't even look at anything else unless I was gonna switch to lithium.

I did end up going with the odyssey. Haven't ran the car yet. Thanks for everyone's opinions.
