74 Scamp slant, auto, "better" carb?

The last time I looked at one was over 20 years ago, so I can't remember. But I don't think so. AFAIR, there are only two rubberized internal parts; the viton-tipped float-valve and the accelerator pump. Some models had a non-metal pump-seal carrier mechanism. I don't know what it was exactly; nylon/plastic, but I have seen decades old ones still working, plus I think replacements come in the kits.
There mightabin a nylon bushing on the passenger side, maybe for the choke pull-off, I can't recall.
What I can recall is that the electric assist timers for the choke elements were a PITA. But they are just a bi-metal bar in a metal housing, that you can monkey with. Sometimes they come with a ballast that shuts them off if you leave the key on engine not running. Those sometimes burn out, and then the choke-plate won't relax to vertical.
